Today a group of about 100 exchange students started their studies at the VUB. They got together in Aula QD to receive their welcome pack, meet their fellow exchange students and sit in on some presentations, notably one by the vice-rector international policy, Professor Sonja Snacken.

They were also introduced to the activities of the Erasmus Student Network (ESN) and the International Student Platform (ISP). After the presentations the students were treated to a grand tour of the university campus in Etterbeek (Brussels) in cooperation with ESN and ISP.

The orientation day closed with drinks at the VUB Sports Complex building.

The aim of the day is to inform the newly arrived international students on all administrative aspects related to the VUB, get to meet and mingle with fellow students, and get to know the university campus.

The students come from a wide variety of countries, including Bolivia, Cuba, Italy, Spain, Romania, Russia, South Africa, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Portugal, Austria, Turkey, Palestine, Finland, Greece and Cyprus.
